John Gillam

John "Shawn" LaShawn Gillam III, of Heather Lane, Kingston NY passed away suddenly Saturday, November 30th 2013. He was born November 11, 1974 in Brooklyn NY to Sherril Williams and the late John Ricky Gillam II.

Shawn was a good natured guy with a big heart who was always ready for a good time. He loved music, basketball, and was a rabid Green Bay Packers fan. He played in the local over 30 basketball league and was a mentor at Family of Woodstock. He was a student at Ulster BOCES in the Innovative Manufacturing Program and also loved barbering. He was united in love to Sandra Delalue-Mesidor for the past 7 years.

He is survived by his wife Sandra Delalue-Mesidor of Kingston, his son Shawn Shameik John Gillam of Charlotte, NC, his step-daughter Lilith Mesidor of Kingston, his brother Jamel Gillam of Brooklyn, his mother Sherril Melvin of Charlotte, NC, his grandmother Margaretta "Shuge" Gillam and many Aunts, Uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and beloved dog Tango. He is entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral Home 326 Albany Ave, Kingston. Friends may call on Saturday, December 7th from 1-3 and 5-7 with a service starting at 7pm.
