Johanna M. Jankowski

Johanna (Malano) Jankowski, 73, of Ulster Park, NY, formerly of Middletown, NY, passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2015. She was born June 10, 1942 in Middletown, to the late Chris and Josephine (Masi) Malano.


Johanna graduated from St. John's Catholic High School in Goshen, NY in 1960. She later married the late Alfred John Jankowski, Jr. on April 28th 1962 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Middletown. In 1966 they moved to the Town of Esopus. Johanna was a parishioner of Presentation of The Blessed Virgin Mary RC Church in Port Ewen. She was an Extraordinary Minister and was active in the Church Womans Club. Johanna was a representative of Respect Life Ministry, a representative of the Church in Ulster County's Respect Life Committee, Chairman of Ulster County Right to Life and was Founder and Chairman of Birthright of Ulster County. Johanna was a Real Estate Agent and a licensed Beautician.


She is survived by her children, Christine (Robert) Schaffner of Yorktown, VA, Kathleen Baker of Albany, NY, Alfred Paul (Jennifer) Jankowski of Kingston, Michael (Dawn Marie) Jankowski of Port Ewen, Mary Therese (Bryan) Roefs of Willow, NY, her sister, Rosemarie Fairley of Ulster Park, her grandchildren, Marisa, Julia, Isabella, Ryan, and Luca, her step-grandchildren, Kevin, Katelyn, and Christopher, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.


Entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 216 Broadway, Port Ewen, where friends and family may visit on Wednesday August 26th from 4 to 7pm. The funeral procession will form on Thursday August 27th at 9am at the funeral home and proceed to Presentation of The Blessed Virgin Mary RC Church, Port Ewen, where at 10AM a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, Kingston.
