Joel Kobran

Joel Kobran, of Schuler La., Town of Ulster died Monday, October 17, 2005. Joel was born in Brooklyn on July 10, 1944, a son of Shirley Weisbrot Kobran and the late Richard Kobran. He received a Bachelors Degree from SUNY Stony Brook in mathamatics. An area resident since 1980, Joel was the financial aide officer and general manager of the family business, Richard I Beauty School. Joel was a lecturer of Anthroposophy. He was also an editor. Beloved son of Shirley Kobran and the late Richard Kobran; loving brother of Gary Kobran and his wife Rita of South Egremont, Mass., Janis Adkins and her husband Paul of Middletown, Maryland and Laura Spaey of Hurley. Several nieces, nephews and one great niece also survive. In observance to his belief in Anthroposophy, Joel will lie in state at the funeral home for three days. There will be a gathering of family and friends at Simpson – Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Wednesday from 4:00 – 7:00 and Thursday from 3:00 – 5:00.
