Jo-Ann M. Cacciatore of Country Lane, Lake Katrine died Thursday, March 31, 2005 at Benedictine Hospital. She was 56. She was born on January 3, 1949 in Poughkeepsie, NY, a daughter of Edward Sweeney and the late May VanVliet Sweeney. She was raised in Pawling. For many years she worked at restaurants and diners, including the Britton Diner in Poughkeepsie. A 27 year area resident, Jo-Ann was a hostess at the Hurley Mountain Inn, Hurley. She was also employed at Sam’s Club in the Town of Ulster and the Baptist Home in Rhinebeck. A sister, Joann Wendover dies previously. Surviving are her fiancé, E. Bruce Ruffner; two sons Brad Currier of Poughkeepsie and Sean Nestler of Lake Katrine; one daughter Michelle Hlinka of Alderson, West Virginia; five sisters, Donna Parillo of Johnstown, Rosemary Sweeney of Poughkeepsie, Patricia Liguori of Highland, Debbie Lane of Lancaster, KY and Tammy VanVliet of Poughkeepsie; six grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received on Sunday from 2 - 4 PM and 7 - 9 PM at the Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home. The Funeral will be held on Monday at 11:30 AM at the Funeral Home, Deacon Jack Peters will officiate. Cremation will be private.
