Kingston - Joan P. Brooks of Hinsdale St. died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2014 at HealthAlliance Hospital Broadway Campus. She was 77. She was born in Kingston, a daughter of the late Richard and Mary Fraser Warrington. Joan is a graduate of Kingston High School '54. A housewife, she previously worked at Metropolitan Hall of Records, IBM Kingston and was organist at St. Paul's in West Camp. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Town of Ulster Senior Citizens and the Red Hatters. Mrs. Brooks also enjoyed playing bingo, music, computers, TV, reading, her family and cat named Suzie. Her husband, Donald J. Brooks died Aug. 27, 2004. Surviving are her children Debra Kiernan and her husband Michael and Glenn Brooks both of Kingston. Two granddaughters, Kim Cowles and Katie Kiernan; two grandsons Shawn Kiernan and Gregory Brooks and a great-grandson, Evan Cowles and several nieces and nephews also survive. A sister, Mary Hudler died previously. Entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston.
