Jerome J. Hirsch

Jerome J. Hirsch of Lucas Ave., Kingston died Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at Ten Broeck Commoms Nursing Home. He was 94. He was born November 8, 1915 in the Bronx a son of the late Harry and Ray Hirtzberg Hirsch. Mr. Hirsch served in the Civilian Conservation Corps during the Depression and served in the Navy as a chief electronics technician in WW II in the Pacific Theater and in Korea. He received a BS from Marist College and was an electronics instructor for IBM in Kingston. He retired in 1973. His wife Sadie Aduchefsky Hirsch died July 20, 1997. Surviving is his sister, Miriam Giamo of Glen Head and his brother, Martin D. Hirsch of Melville and nieces and nephews, Angela and Joseph Giamo, Marilyn and Ellen Hirsch and Greg, Bradley and David Hirsch. A brother, John J. Hirsch died previously. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday at Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. at noon. Interment will follow in Montrepose Cemetery, Kingston. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Jerome and Sadie Hirsch Nursing Scholarship at Ulster County Community College, 491 Cottekill Rd., Stone Ridge, NY 12484 or to a charity of choice.
