Jean Morrison Wemple of Rosa Lane, Hurley died Sunday, February 11, 2007 at Kingston Hospital. She was 85.
She was born November 5, 1921 in Ridgewood, Queens, NY a daughter of the late David and Florence C. Leavitt Morrison.
Jean was raised in Jamaica, Queens and then in Middleburg, NY. She graduated in 1939 from Middleburg High School. In 1942 she received her nursing degree from Nathan Littauer Hospital School of Nursing.
On October 7, 1944, she married Robert Olson Wemple in Gloversville, NY. They were active in the Fremont Methodist Church and sang in the choir. She belonged to the Auxiliary of Nathan Littauer Hospital.
In 1956 they moved to Rosa Lane, Hurley. Jean did nursing care, part time, at Kignston Hospital and was active in the Women's Auxiliary.
An active and longtime member of St. James United Methodist Church, Jean sang in the Choir for many years.
In addition to her husband of 62 years, she is survived by two sons, David Henry Wemple and his wife Barbara of Albany and Peter Michael Wemple and his wife Lin of Lake Katrine; several nieces and nephews.
A brother, David Morrison and a sister, Florence Morrison died previously.
A memorial service will be held in St. James United Methodist Church on Saturday, February 24, 2007 at 1:00 PM. Rev. Jeff Glassey will officiate.
