Jean Margaret Wheeler

Averill Park, NY- Jean M. Wheeler, 83, formerly of Rifton, died December 28, 2009 at the home of her son in Averill Park, NY.

Mrs. Wheeler was born July 27, 1926 in Poughkeepsie, NY, the daughter of the late Marshall and Abigail (Pectle) Hewlett.

Mrs. Wheeler had worked as a maternity nurse for 30 years at Kingston Hospital before retiring in May 1979.

She was a graduate of Arlington High School in Poughkeepsie, NY and received a registered nursing degree from the Kingston Hospital Nursing School in 1947.

She married Harry Berryann who died in February 1953.

She was an active member of the Lake Katrine Bible Baptist Church.

Mrs. Wheeler is survived by her husband, Rosener Wheeler of Kingston and three sons, Bruce and his wife Debbie Berryann of Accord, NY; David and his wife Cindy Berryann of Port Ewen, NY; Donald and his wife Janice Berryann of Averill Park, NY; one step-son, Fred and his wife Mieka Wheeler of Grosse Isle, MI; two step-daughters, Beth and her husband Dan Saks of Prescott Valley, Az; and Carol and her husband Ed Sahagian of Carlsbad, Ca.
Mrs. Wheeler has four brothers, Howard, Alan, Robert and Donald Hewlett; three sisters, Betty Underhill, Ella Hampson, and Barbara Bontempo.
Also surviving, are 15 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Besides her parents, brothers Marshall and Sam Hewlett and a sister Eleanor Benson predeceased her.

Friends may call on Wednesday 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Keyser Funeral Service, Inc. 326 Albany Ave., Kingston.

Funeral services will take place at the Funeral Home on Thursday, December 31st at 1PM.
Burial will follow at Montrepose Cemetery in Kingston.
