KINGSTON- Margaret Jean Larkin Davis, of North Manor Ave. died Wednesday, January 21, 2004 at home after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 82.
She was born June 28, 1921 in Kingston, a daughter of the late Dr. John F. and Margaret Lee Larkin.
A graduate of Kingston High School and the College of New Rochelle, Class of 1944, she previously taught English at Kingston High School.
She was a parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church and was a member of Wiltwyck Country Club, the Kingston Garden Club and the Benedictine Hospital Auxilliary. She was a former president of the Junior League of Kingston and a volunteer for the Junior League Store, Benedictine Hospital and People’s Place.
In 1946, she married the Hon. Arthur A. Davis Jr. who died February 19, 2001.
Surviving are two daughters, Diane Lindsey of Pittsburgh, PA, Joan Dresow of Tiburon, CA and four sons, Arthur A. III and William, both of Kingston, Robert of Kennebunkport, Me and Stephen of Denver, CO and a sister, Helen “Bebe” O’Reilly of Kingston. Nine grandchildren and many nieces and nephews also survive.
Two brothers, John and Michael Larkin died previously.
Reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Kingston on Fri. evening from 7 – 9 pm. A funeral procession will form on Sat. at 9:15 am from the funeral home. At 10:00 am, a funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Church in Kingston. Burial will follow in Wiltwyck Cemetery.
