Hurley - Jay Marrus, 84, of Russell Road died Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Health Alliance Hospital Broadway Campus. He was born July 18, 1933 in Mount Vernon, NY, the son of the late Harry and Sara Marrus.
He was the husband of the late Jean T Marrus who died November 20th, 2017. They wed on March 9, 1957 at the First Presbyterian Church in Mount Vernon, NY. They celebrated 60 years of marriage this past March.
Mr. Marrus served in the US Navy during the Korean War, following his time in the service, he drove bus for Greyhound and Trailways, he then worked for Conrail as a conductor for many years until his retirement.
He loved to go camping with his wife Jean, enjoyed gardening and woodworking,
He is survived by his son, Glenn (Sonia) Marrus of Wallingford, CT, three grandchildren Ricky Marrero, Victoria Marrus and Glenn Marrus II, three great grandchildren Leah, Ricky, Jr. and Noah, and a sister in law Kathleen Troup of Eastchester. He was predeceased by a daughter Victoria Marrus.
