Janice H. Wood

Janice H. Wood, 86, of the Town of Ulster, died Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at Ten Broeck Commons Nursing Home. Born in Kingston, she was a daughter of the late Clarence L. & Grace Hudler Hyde. She was a founding member of the Mid Hudson Women's Chorus, a parishioner of the Reformed Church of the Comforter, where she was a longtime member of the Woman's Guild. Janice was an avid New York Mets fan, bird watcher, member of the Trailsweepers Ski Club, as well as a volunteer at the election day polls. Janice is survived by four children, Deborah J. Collins of Longmont, CO, James S. Wood and his wife Kathy of Kingston, Richard T. Wood and his wife Debra of Kingston and Jeffrey D. Wood of Kingston, five grandchildren, Amy L. Williams and her husband, Rett, Kristie L. Collins, Michael G. Collins, Adam R. Wood and his wife Tara and Elizabeth Wood. One great granddaughter, Avari Lynn Wood also survives. Reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., on Sunday, June 9, 2013 from 4-7 PM. A funeral service will be held on Monday at the funeral home at 11:00 Am. Interment will follow at Wiltwyck Cemetery. The family requests that memorial donations be made to Ten Broeck Commons, One Commons Drive, Lake Katrine, NY 12449.
