Jane M. "Janie" Wilcox of Vans Terrace, Lake Katrine died Sunday, October 21, 2007 at home. She was 63. She was born December 4, 1943 in Binghamton, a daughter of the late John M. and Sara Jane Ryan Humphrey.
A licensed practical nurse, she graduated from Phelps School of Nursing in Tarrytown and also attended St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Elmira, SUNY New Paltz and the College of St. Rose. She had worked at Northern Dutchess Hospital and the Baptist Home in Rhinebeck. She was currently employed as a program analyst for Healthserve in Poughkeepsie.
Mrs. Wilcox was a founding member of First Capitol Corvettes Club and also a founding member of the Peekskill Young Women's Club. She also participated in area golf leagues.
Surviving is her husband, LeRoy Wilcox Jr.;a daughter, Lisa Anne Castaldo and her husband Joseph of Port Ewen, two sons, James D. Wilcox of Los Angeles, CA and Joseph M. Wilcox and his wife Holly of Cary, NC; five brothers, Jack, Edward and James Humphrey, all of Binghamton, Thomas Humphrey of Vestal and Gerry Humphrey of Delaware; three sisters, Kathy Kozel of Pennsylvania, Virginia Cerretani of Syracuse and Mary Humphrey of Binghamton. One aunt, Betty Ryan of Binghamton and her four grandchildren, Vincent, Kelli, Matthew and Allison and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews also survive.
Reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Kingston on Wednesday from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 pm. A candlelight service will take place at 8:15 pm. A funeral procession will form on Thursday at 9:15 am at the funeral home. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Church in Kingston at 10:00 am. Cremation will be at Wiltwyck Cemetery.
