James V. Fitzgerald, 62, passed away at home in Sea Bright on January 12, 2014. Born in Albany, NY, he was raised in Brooklyn, NY. He attended St. Brendan's Grammar School, Brooklyn N.Y., Regis High School, Manhattan N.Y., and graduated from Shenendehowa High School, Clifton Park. N.Y. Jim married his high school sweetheart Susan Murray in 1975. He served in the US Army for 4 years where he earned the Good Conduct medal and Army Commendation medal. After leaving the Army, he began a successful career in the Information Technology industry. He lived in Sea Bright for the past 14 years and worked as Vice President of Information Technology at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
Jim is predeceased by his mother Maureen Butler Fitzgerald. He is survived by his father Thomas J. Fitzgerald, his beloved wife of 38 years, Susan Fitzgerald, his loving children, Jennifer Leonard and husband Michael, Tara Bulfamante and husband Dominick, and James Fitzgerald, his cherished grandchildren, Sydney Leonard, Brooke Leonard, Jake Leonard, Dominick Bulfamante, and Adriana Bulfamante, and his 10 siblings, Theresa, Catherine, Albion, Thomas Jr., Stanley, Maureen Jr., Elizabeth, William, Joseph, and Tina.
Jim was an avid NY Yankees fan. All of those who knew him loved him for his keen sense of humor. Jim was always the life of the party and will be dearly missed by everyone who has known him. His life outside of work was his family where he spent the time he had coaching his three children in many sports, including soccer and baseball. His most memorable times were those spent relaxing on the beach with his family.
Visitation will take place at Keyser Funeral Home, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, NY on Friday, January 17 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral services on Saturday, January 18 at 10am at St. Mary's Church, 160 Broadway, Kingston, NY. Interment to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Kingston, NY.
