James Richard Summers

James R. "Rick" Summers born February 3, 1952 in Smithville Missouri passed away September 18, 2019 in Kingston New York at the age of 67. He grew up in Lathrop Missouri and graduated from Lathrop High School in 1971. In 1975 Rick was united in marriage to Natalie Quinn and they had a daughter Richelle Lyn Summers.

Rick's work career included the Ithaca gunstock manufacturing company in Cameron Missouri. In 1984 Rick moved to Kingston New York and begin working for Not Fade-A-Way tie-dye company. Rick most recently worked for Woodstock building supply in Woodstock, NY. Rick was an entrepreneur selling his tie-dye shirts at the Woodstock local farmers market every summer. Rick spent his off time at his home in Ruby, New York in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains. Rick was an avid fisherman and always willing to lend a hand.

He will be greatly missed by the many family and friends that he leaves behind. Rick was preceded in death by his parents James "Jim" Summers and Della Summers. Rick leaves behind his loving daughters Richelle (Toby) Atchison of Lathrop, MO and Andrea Mynatt-Malish of Kansas City, MO his grandchildren Jeremiah, Derrick, Blaise, Cheyenne, and Raevyn his brothers Michael (Susan) Summers of Smithville, MO Johnny (Kathy) Summers of Lathrop, MO Terry (Lana) Summers of Smithville, MO and Kevin (David) Summers of Orlando, FL numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Lathrop, MO.
