James Meyer

James “Jim” Meyer passed away surrounded by loved ones on Oct. 11^th, he was 76. Born Sept. 25th, 1947 in the Bronx, NY, he was the son of Albert Meyer and Orella (McGrath) Meyer. He is predeceased by his parents and sister, Mary Meyer.

Jim was married to the love of his life, Andrea (Brady) Meyer, for 46 years. They resided in Hurley, NY. He was a loving father to Heather Meyer and her husband George Gierer of North Salem, NY, Jim Jr. of Hurley, NY, and Karen of Manhattan, NY. He was an adoring grandfather to Wyatt Gierer, Alexis, Isabelle, and Brady Meyer. Jim is survived by brothers, Gerard & John Meyer and sister Jean Campbell. Jim devoted his life’s work to Ulster Greene ARC in Kingston, NY, where he was an executive administrator, supervising programs for adults with developmental disabilities. Jim found great joy in teaching children how to play sports. He coached countless children’s basketball, softball, and baseball teams and loved every minute of it.

Those who knew Jim will remember him as a talker. He could carry on a conversation with anybody and anyone. His absence is sorely felt and he will be greatly missed by those who loved him.

Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401, where family and friends may visit on Sunday, October 15, 2023 from 11am to 1pm and 3pm to 5pm. The funeral service will be held at 11am on Monday, October 16, 2023 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Hurley Cemetery, Hurley, NY.
