James Mathew Walz, formerly of Genesee Ave., Lake Katrine died Saturday, January 19, 2013 in Middlesex Hospital, Middletown, CT. He was 87. He was born in Aurora, IL a son of the late Joseph and Henrietta Warfel Walz. A veteran of WW II, Mr. Walz attended electronics school in the Air Force and retired as a Master Sergeant following 25 years of service. He then joined IBM in Kingston as a systems analyst and retired in 1980 after 20 years of service. He was an avid bowler, accomplishing two 300 games. He was a member of VFW Post 1386. Mr. Walz was married to the late Louise Carrado Walz. Surviving is his daughter, Cynthia and her husband Jeffrey Gotta of Middletown, CT; and two grandsons, Steven and Matthew Gotta. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his brothers and sisters George, Sam, Joe, Margaret and Ethel. Entrusted to the care of Paul Geary of the Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 - 11 AM.
