James L. McCutcheon, 82, of Troy, formerly of Hurley, died Friday, September 11, 2015 at Heritage House in Troy.
Born in Kingston, he was a son of the late Peter & Janet Amis McCutcheon. Jim was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served as a sergeant in the US Army. He worked for IBM for 36 years and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. He was a member of the VFW, a board member of the Mid Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union and a member of the Rondout Golf Club. Jim loved to golf, walk, read, travel with his wife Sheila and spend time with his family.
Jim is survived by his wife of 16 years, Sheila Bazarian of Troy, whom he married on April 16, 1999, two daughters, Kathleen McKenna and her husband Thomas of Pleasant Valley, Joanne Rose of Kingston, two sons, Peter McCutcheon and his wife Ellen of Poughkeepsie, Patrick McCutcheon and his wife Kristen of Danbury, two step-sons, Jeffrey Bazarian, MD and his wife Tracy of Honeoye Falls and Stephen Bazarian and his wife Laurie of Dracut, MA. Seventeen grandchildren and many nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to his parents, Jim was predeceased by his first wife, Margaret McCutcheon, who passed in 1996, a sister Jeanne Gilpatric, a brother, Donald McCutcheon and a son in law, Walter "Jay" Rose.
Jim will be reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 from 4-7 PM.
The funeral procession will form from the funeral home on Wednesday at 10:00 AM.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Church.
Interment with military honors will follow in Hurley Cemetery.
