James J. Rieker, III, of Port Ewen, died suddenly Saturday morning, December 24, 2011 in Port Ewen.
He had been employed by Any - Time Home Care as a home health aide for many years. He had also been employed by Nelson's Supply installing custom granite countertops.
James was a graduate of Ulster Vo Tech in Port Ewen and had attended Ulster County Community College. He was musically inclined, and was accomplished at playing the guitar and keyboard. He enjoyed a lot of activities, most recently studying languages and was learning Mandarin Chinese, Portuguese and French. His hobbies also included painting and photography,
Jim was born April 20, 1971 in Kingston and is survived by his father, James J. Rieker, Jr., his step mother Carol Rieker, his sister Melanie L. Rieker, a nephew Christopher Riedinger, Jr. Several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive. He was the son of the late Leonora "Lee" Rieker.
Entrusted to the care of the Keyser Funeral Service, Inc., 216 Broadway, Port Ewen, the family will receive their friends on Thursday from 4 - 7 pm. The service will be held on Friday at 11:00 am, Father Carl Johnson, officiating. Burial in Hurley Cemetery
