James J. Forgey of Florence St., Kingston died Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at Northern Dutchess Hospital. He was 88.
He was born May 15, 1920 in Kingston, a son of the late James and Caroline Steinhilber Forgey.
He was a graduate of Kingston High School, Class of 1939. For over 48 years, Mr. Forgey sold electrical supplies for Canfield Supply Co. He retired in 1993. He was a parishioner of St. Mary's Church and was a life-member of Fr. Con Colbert Woulfe, Ulster Co. Div. 1, Ancient Order of Hibernians.
On May 1, 1950 he married Mary Bodenweber.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his son Richard and his wife Melisa of Sawkill and his daughter, Dr. Maryann Forgey and her husband, Lester Lombardi of Clinton Corners. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
His brother, Francis Forgey and his sister, Veronica Smith died previously.
Friends will be received at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Kingston on Friday from 2 - 4 PM and 6 - 9 PM. A funeral procession will form at the funeral home on Saturday at 10:15 AM and process to St. Mary's Church for an 11:00 AM funeral Mass. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Kingston.
