James E. Rothlein, 56, of Saugerties, died Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at his home.
Born in White Plains, NY, he was a son of Travis & Marilyn Rothlein of Saugerties. James was a veteran of the US Marine Corp. He was the owner/operator of the Rondout Yacht Basin, an entrepreneur and world traveler. He was a nationally ranked poker player, adventurer and animal lover. James was extremely generous, funny and was a wonderful family man.
In addition to his parents, James is survived by his fianc and companion of 10 years, Lisa Mellin, his true love, three children, Andrew Rothlein and his wife Katie of Houston, TX, Nicholas Rothlein of Arcata, CA, Lindsay Rothlein of Saugerties, two sisters, Helen Rothlein and her husband, James White of NY, NY, Nancy Rothlein Joseph and her husband Paul Joseph of Weston, CT, one grandbaby, Presley, his niece, Laura and her husband Greg, two nephews, Spencer and Alec, one grandnephew, Liam.
A Funeral Service will be conducted on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave at 10:00 AM, with Rabbi Zoe Zak, officiating.
Interment in Kensico Cemetery will be privately held.
The family will sit Shiva at their home on Thursday, August 18, 2016 from 7-9 PM and Friday from 2-5 PM.
