James Alfred Sills

James Alfred Sills, 76, of Kingston, quietly passed away at the Golden Hill Nursing Home in Kingston on Monday, November 11, 2013 in the comfort of his loving family. He was born July 2, 1937 at home in Kingston to the late Joseph E. Sills Sr. and Hilda Sills.

Jimmy, as his many friends knew him, attended the Kingston School System. He became well known as a long time taxi driver in the City of Kingston. He was a former employee of Gilbert Gray Ambulance and Taxi Service of Kingston after which he drove for Schultz Taxi Service and Kingston Cabs.

Jim was a former volunteer firefighter with the A.H. Wicks Engine & Truck Co., of the Kingston Fire Dept. He was a long time member and officer of Kingston Lodge No. 970, Loyal Order of Moose where he enjoyed the position of "Official Bingo Caller". He was also an avid bowler and enjoyed watching NY Yankee and Mets baseball games.

Following his retirement he became a resident at the Birches on Maple Lane in Kingston where he continued to enjoy the game of Bingo during their social hours.

Jim is survived by siblings; Hilda Pugliese of Kingston and Joseph E Sills Jr. of Ulster Park, as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and a cousin Robert Sills of Kingston. He is predeceased by his siblings; William R. Murray, Grace A. Sills, and Janet B. Norton.

Entrusted to the care of Eric Keyser of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston. The family will receive their friends on Thursday November 14th from 4 - 7 pm. The Service will be held at 7pm. Burial will take place at a later date at the discretion of the family.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Reformed Church of the Comforter, 26 Wynkoop Place, Kingston, NY 12401.
