Jacqueline L. LaBarge

Jacqueline L. LaBarge of Tami Lea Ct., Lake Katrine died Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at Ferncliff Nursing Home. She was 79. She was born in Lyon Mountain, NY, a daughter of the late William and Rita LaFountain Linney. After graduating from Port Henry High School, Jackie attended secretarial school. She married Andrus J. LaBarge on June 27, 1953. They moved to Dawn Dr., Latham where they lived for 23 years. In 1978 they moved to Lake Katrine. Jackie owned and operated a successful income tax preparation business, AJ & JL Enterprises Inc. She belonged to the National Assoc. of Tax Preparers for many years and served as an Ulster County Legislator for 10 years. Jackie served as president of The Children's Annex from 1988 1990 and was a Treasurer and current member of the Board of Trustees in the Town of Ulster Library and member of the Town of Ulster Lions Club. A parishioner of St. Catherine Laboure Church, she served as Eucharistic Minister and Lector. Beloved wife of 60 years to Andy LaBarge, mother of Rita LaBarge of Berkeley, CA, Andrea LaBarge of Kensington, MD, William LaBarge and his husband Jerry Ferrazza of Framingham, MA, James LaBarge and his wife Rose of York, PA, and the late Stephen LaBarge who died in 1958; sister of Angus Linney of Albuquerque, NM, William Linney of Collierville, TN, Jerry Linney of Chazey, NY, John Linney of Plattsburgh and the late Robert Linney; grandmother of Morgan Linton, Julia Straws, Zachariah, Oktavia and Matthew LaBarge; great grandmother of Heidi Straws. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Reposing at the Simpson Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Sunday from 1:00 5:00 pm. The funeral procession will form on Monday at 9:00 am from the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Catherine Laboure Church at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Catherine Laboure Church, 200 Tuyten Bridge Rd, Lake Katrine, NY 12449.
