Isidore Polan, formerly of Woodstock, NY, of Thousand Oaks, California died Wednesday, December 14, 2005 at his residence. He was 92.
He was born in New York City on July 5, 1913, a son of the late Joseph and Dora Polansky. He married Florence Haiken in 1938.
Formerly of Brooklyn, for 25 years Mr. Polan owned and operated Industrial Casting Co, Inc. in Brooklyn. He retired in 1987.
In 1987 Mr. Polan moved to Bearsville. He belonged to Young at Heart in Kingston and attended the Woodstock Jewish Congregation. His wife died August 24, 2001.
Surviving are two daughters Jean Morris and her husband Steve of Bearsville and Emily Frankel and her husband Larry of Thousand Oaks, CA; one son Leonard Polan and his wife Jill of Westlake Village, CA; two sisters Molly Foote of Chicago, Ill. and Bess Polansky of Woodstock; one brother Dave Polansky of Brooklyn; six grandchildren Janet and Paul Frankel, Daniel Morris, Dustin, Alissa and Rachel Polan.
One sister Faye Rosenthal died previously.
Funeral services will conducted on Sunday at 12:30 at Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. Rabbi Jonathan Kligler will officiate. Interment will be in Montrepose Cemetery.
