Isabel Gill Mizel, 85, long-time Hurley resident, died Sunday, November 06, 2011, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on May 8, 1926, in New York City to the late John and Helen Gill. On September 11, 1948, she married Bernard Jackson Mizel in the Hurley Reformed Church. They were married for 43 years until the time of his death on August 20, 1992. After her graduation from Kingston High School in 1944, she entered Hood College in Frederick, MD. During her college years, she sang and soloed in the Hood College Choir and was a class officer. Mrs. Mizel received a Bachelors of Arts Degree with a major in Psychology in 1948. An avid bridge player, she enjoyed reading, painting and attending the ballet and opera. She was a member of the Hurley Reformed Church, Hood College Alumni Association, Hurley Heritage Society, Little Garden Club of Kingston, Associate Member of Senior Residence in Kingston and Ulster County Republican Women's Club. A devoted and loving mother, she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and David Sadler, Cottekill, NY; son and daughter-in-law, John and Marianne Mizel, Ulster Park, NY; daughter and son-in-law, Marion and Thomas Goss, Stone Ridge, NY; granddaughters, Heather Goss, Maui, HI and Elizabeth Goss, Maui, HI; grandson, Nicholas Sadler, Kingston, NY; brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Charlotte Gill, Hurley, NY and several nieces and nephews.
Entrusted to the care of Eric Keyser, A. Carr & Son Funeral Home, 65 Lucas Ave, Kingston. Friends may call on Thursday from 2- 4 & 7 - 9. The services will be held Friday at 11:00 AM. Rev. Dr. Robert Gram, officiating.
