Irene Reis, 100, of Kingston, passed peacefully Wednesday morning , February 13, 2013 at Golden Hill Health Care Center, Kingston, She was born October 18, 1912 in Ruby, the daughter of the late Alvin and Kathryn Van Hoevenburg.
She was the wife of the late Charles A. Reis, he passed on April 30, 1986.
Irene was a graduate of Kingston High School, class of 1933, was a member of the Old Dutch Reformed Church, Wiltwyck Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution, Colonial Gardens Senior Citizens, A. H. Wicks Ladies Auxiliary and AARP. For many years she had worked at the Kingston High School cafeteria.
Irene is survived by her loving daughters, Cheryl Hoffman and her husband George of Coeymans Hollow, and Debra Reis of Cairo, four grandchildren Jeffrey and Michael Hoffman, Shannon Sperl and Ian Melville and 6 great grandchildren
Entrusted to the care of Eric Keyser, Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, friends may call on Sunday from 2 - 5 pm. The services will be Monday at 10:00 am.
Burial in Fairview Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Golden Hill Activity Fund, 99 Golden Hill Drive, Kingston, NY 12401
