Ione St. Paul

Violet Ione St. Paul, 89, of Kingston, died Thursday, July 22, 2010 at the Kingston Hospital. She was born December 13, 1920 in East Kingston, to the late Frank and Jeanette (Gilbert) Rittie.

She was the wife of Joseph E. St. Paul, they wed on June 29th 1940 at the Trinity Methodist Church, and they had celebrated 62 years of marriage. Mr. St. Paul died on November 17th, 2002.

Mrs. St. Paul was a homemaker and a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was loved and adored by all.
Mrs. St. Paul was a life - long Christian and a member of Trinity Methodist Church in Kingston. She served for many years as a Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School Secretary, and the Doer's Class and on many groups and committees at Trinity. She had been a Cub Scout Den Mother and was a member of Wiltwyck Chapter Order Eastern Star.
Mrs. St. Paul loved being with her family, enjoyed traveling, cooking and baking, especially for holiday dinners, gardening, square dancing, hiking and camping. She loved to tell her grandchildren stories and sing silly songs with them for hours on end.

Mrs. St. Paul is survived by her son Joseph E. St. Paul, Jr., and his wife Dorothy of Kingston, daughter Brenda D. Elder and her husband Harry, Ulster Park, grandchildren Lori High, Jill Van Leuvan, Kimberly Danzeisen, Erin Stokes and Trisha Elder, great grandchildren Tyler, Courtney, Matthew, Hayley and Darla, her brother Robert Rittie, Baltimore, MD. She was the mother of the late Jeffrey L. St. Paul, sister of the late Frank Rittie, Walter Rittie, Mildred Carr, Alma Palmater, Genevieve Krusher and Joan Offermann.

Entrusted to the care of the Keyser Funeral Service, Inc., 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, Friends may call on Sunday from 6 - 9 pm. The service will be held on Monday at 1:00 pm at Keyser's, the Rev. Ralph Darmstadt, officiating. Burial in Montrepose Cemetery, Kingston.
