Ida R. Kalde

Ida R. Kalde, 84, died Saturday, April 23, 2005, at Ten Broeck Commons, Lake Katrine. She was 84. She was born December 10, 1920 in Estonia, a daughter of the late Peedu and Maria Riik. Ida immigrated to this country in 1948, and settled in the Bronx. For many years she worked as a seamstress in the NYC garment industry. She belonged to the I.L.G.W. Union. Ida married Eduard Kalde on September 2, 1952. He died March 13, 1968. She has lived with her son and daughter in law for the past 3 years. Surviving are her son, Peter Ruut and his wife Evelyn of Woodstock, a grandaughter, Lisa Marie Lemba of Port St. Lucie, Florida, and a great granddaughter, Sara Angelina Lemba. Ida was predeceased by 8 brothers and sisters. Inurnment will be in Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla, NY at a later date.
