Ida Marie Worthington

Ida Marie Babo Worthington, 72, of Hoffman St., Kingston, NY, died Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at Wingate at Ulster, Highland, NY. She was born October 29, 1936 in Kingston, NY to the late James Charity and Ida Clark Medley. She was the wife of the late Joseph Worthington who died September 6, 1976.

She was a graduate of Kingston High School, she was a licensed practical nurse, and she worked for Ulster County at the Golden Hill Health Care Center for 23 years until her retirement.
She was a longtime member and Deacon at the New Progressive Baptist Church, she was particularly involved in the outreach programs, including going to the area hospitals and nursing homes. She loved to cook and help others where ever and whenever she could, always more than willing to extend a helping hand to those in need.

Ida is survived by her children Robert Medley and his wife Sue, Westland, MI, daughter DeVeda Worthington, Kingston, NY, son Paul Worthington and his wife Rita, Kingston, NY, son Kirk Mosley and his wife Karen, Schenectady, NY, daughter Cathryn Timbrouck and her husband Russell, Kingston, NY, brother James Medley and his wife Kay, Conway, SC, sister in law Lois Polk, West Berlin, NJ, adopted daughters Josephine Mars - Streater, Atlanta, GA, Ivy Riley - Thomas, Kingston, NY, 20 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her children Terri Medley and Romaine Medley, brother Paul Medley, and 2 grandchildren.

Friends may call at New Progressive Baptist Church, Kingston on Sunday from 7 9 pm. A Going Home Service will be held at the First Baptist Church, Albany Ave., on Monday at 1:00 pm. Rev. Dr. G. Modele Clarke, officiating. Her nephew, Rev. Anthony Medley, eulogist.
