Ida B. Gooch, 61, of Kingston, died Monday, September 21, 2015 at home surrounded by her family.
Born in Manhattan, she was the daughter of the late Phil and Loretta Heilweil Bauman.
For over 25 years, Ida devoted herself to serving as a guidance counselor to middle school students in Albany, Poughkeepsie, Red Hook, and Kingston, as well as to her own three children (and husband). She was a loving wife, mother, loyal friend, and artist with an inspirational drive to learn and create. For her family and friends she was an anchor; providing a consistent voice of reason, sound advice and unwavering support. Ida will be sorely and lovingly missed.
Ida is survived by her husband Bill, her three children, Reid and his wife Lauren, Leah, Courtney and her husband Tyler, her granddaughter, Vivian, two brothers, Arthur and Richard Bauman.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave at 10:00 AM with Rabbi Jonathan Kligler of the Woodstock Jewish Congregation, officiating.
Interment will follow in Montrepose Cemetery.
