Hyman Reher, retired baker of Reher's Bakery, of downtown Broadway died Sunday, November 21, 2004. He was 89.
A native and lifelong Kingston resident, he was born on March 25, 1915, a son of the late Frank and Ada Aduchefsky Reher. He served in the US Army during WW II in the Asiatic - Pacific Theater of Operations.
A longtime member of Congregation Agudas Achim, Hymie worked in the family bakery business located on Broadway and Spring Street for most of his life.
His four sisters Sadie, Gertrude, Molly and Elsie Reher and a brother Willie Reher, all died previously.
Surviving are two daughters Adria Pine of Brooklyn and Phyllis Goldstein of the Bronx; eight grandchildren Goldie, David, Samuel and Lawrence Pine, Simcha, Samuel, Florence and Chaim Goldstein; three great grandchildren Shani Liebis, Ephraim Fischel Goldstein and Golda Goldstein; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday at 12:00 at Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Rabbi Yitzock Hecht of Congregation Agudas Achim will officiate. Interment will be in the Old Agudas Achim Section of Montrepose Cemetery.
