Hope Ellen English

Hope Ellen English, 68, of Minturn Street, Port Ewen, NY, formerly of Rhinebeck, died Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at the Benedictine Hospital. She was born February 25, 1941 in New Rochelle, NY to the late Ralph and Ellen (Herdfelder) English.




Ms. English moved to this area over 35 years ago. She had worked at the Northern Dutchess Hospital and then became a legal secretary, working for the law firm of Robert Greco and then the law firm of Riseley & Ball until retirment.



She attended the Living Word Chapel and Presention RC Church. Ms. English was an avid knitter, loved to do crossword puzzles, dance, spend time with her family and had been active volunteer with the Ulster County SPCA, she "loved her kids, pets, snacks and naps".



Loving mother of John English, Mark English, Dominick Tolli, Elizabeth Hasenbalg and Ketti English,
sister of Jeanne Harris, grandmother of Kyle, Erin, Noel, Andrew, Brielle, Alexa and Dominick, aunt of Juliana and Kristen and she also leaves behind her extended family Debi, Jesse, Sabrina, Liam and Cassidy. Mother of the late Susan Tolli and Gabrielle Kulick.



Entrusted to the care of the Keyser Funeral Service, Inc., 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston. Friends may call on Friday from 2 -4 & 7 -9. The procession will form on Saturday at 9:15 am and proceed to Presentation R.C. Church where at 10:00 am a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Carl Johnson. Burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Barrytown.




The family suggests in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Ulster County SPCA, 20 Wiedy Rd, Kingston, NY 12401
