Herta Jurgeleit

Herta Jurgeleit, 88, of Kingston, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at HealthAlliance Hospital, Broadway Campus after being surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 15, 1929 in Germany to the late Josef and Amalie Grasmeier. Herta was married to the love of her life, Gerhard Jurgeleit. They wed on November 23, 1957, Gerhard passed away on January 17, 2017.

A very religious and deeply devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt, she instilled her love of the Lord to her family. Herta was a member of the Salty Seniors Group at Grace Community Church and the Stone Ridge Knitting Club.
She is survived by her children, Doris (Frank) Blaha of Ulster Park, Robert (Tami Radfar) Jurgeleit of Mahwah, NJ, grandchildren, Marissa and Cassandra Blaha, and Kylie Jurgeleit, great grandchildren, Mariandra Blaha-Carney, Maygan Blaha-Carney, Marcas Blaha, her sister, Reserl aka Theresa (Fred Barth) Tommucheit-Barth, her brothers in law, Ed Irberseder and Nick Ambrusio, and her sisters in law, Christel Faulhaber and Hannelore Jurgeleit as well as many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her siblings, Anne Ambrusio, Fanerl (Frances) Irberseder, Walter Grasmeier, and Josef Grasmeier as well as several sisters in law and brothers in law.

Entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston, where family and friends may visit on Friday, September 15 from 4pm to 7pm. The funeral service will be held at 11am on Saturday, September 16 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Remy Rural Cemetery. The family suggests in lieu of flowers memorial memorial donations may be made to the Oncology Support Program of WMC Health HealthAlliance, 105 Marys Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401. Checks can be made payable to HeathAlliance Foundation, please write "OSP in memory of Herta Jurgeleit" in the memo.
