Herbert J. Kletske, of Hoyt Street, Port Ewen died Saturday, January 22, 2005 at Benedictine Hospital. He was 91.
Herb was born in Brooklyn on March 25, 1913, a son of the late Joseph and Bella Laden Kletske. Formerly of Mt. Vernon, Herb moved to this area in 1937 and opened a small dress shop in Kingston.
On October 8, 1939 he married Helen Goldberg. Herb and Helen, from 1939 - 1981 co-owned and operated a womens apparel store, Paris of Kingston. He later worked for 10 years at Anderson - Little at the Hudson Valley Mall and, most recently, for Jonathan Reid, Ltd. in the Mall until 2003.
He was a member of Temple Emanuel.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 65 years, are one daughter Beth Joan Olsson at home, his granddaughter Jackie Lawson and her husband David of Port Ewen; two great grandchildren, Alexandra and Peter Lawson; and two nieces.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday at 10:00 AM at Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Rabbi Yael Romer of Temple Emanuel will officiate. Interment will be in Montrepose Cemetery. Following the cemetery ritual, the family will observe shiva privately.
