Henry P. Bouw of Wilbur Avenue, Kingston died Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at Ten Broeck Commons Nursing Home. He was 89. He was born in New York City on February 7, 1920, a son of the late Jacob and Johanna Van Rooy Bouw. He was a graduate of Nyack College. As a plumber, he owned and operated Bouw Plumbing & Heating, Nyack. Formerly of Middletown and Zephyrhills, Florida, he has lived in this area for 15 years. An avid reader, Mr. Bouw was a lifelong member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance. His charity included the ability to assist neighbors with various home repairs. He loved being in the presence of children. His wife Vera Green Bouw died October 25, 2007. One brother William Bouw and one sister Johanna Ambler both died previously. Surviving are two daughters Cynthia Pladel and her husband Keith of Highland and Pam Melchior of Willimantic, CT; two sons Charles Bouw of VA and Stephen Bouw of CA; one brother Jake Bouw of Downsville; seven grandchildren Nicole, Michael, Justin, Ashley, Sarah, Caleb and Elaina; one great grandson Lucio Jr.; many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be conducted at The Kingston Christian and Missionary Alliance, 90 Miller's Lane, Kingston on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Cremation was in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
