Henry J. "Hank" Matthies

Henry J. "Hank" Matthies, 75, of Port Ewen, NY, died Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at Vassar Brothers Hospital. He was born April 25, 1934 in Jersey City, NJ to the late Henry and Jean (Laune) Matthies.

He was the beloved husband of Noreen Wrynn Matthies, they wed on December 15, 1973.

He had worked for Magic Silk, in Bergen, NJ until his retirement several years ago. He loved to build and make model trains and houses, enjoyed camping, traveling to historic sites and carpentry. He was a member of the Morgan Hill Game Association and the NRA.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his loving granddaughter Kaylee Ann Clausi, Port Ewen, she affectionately referred to him as my Popeye, and a sister Jean Kurzrok, PA. He was the loving father of the late Patricia Ann Matthies who preceded him on March 15, 2008. He also had many nieces and nephews.

Entrusted to the care of the Keyser Funeral Service, Inc., 216 Broadway, Port Ewen, Friends may call on Thursday from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9, services will be held on Friday at 10:00 am Burial in Montrepose Cemetery, Kingston.
