Henry J. Langley

March 19, 1944 — April 13, 2015

Tillson - Henry J. "Hank" Langley of Jeffrey Dr. died Monday, April 13, 2015 at HealthAlliance Hospital Broadway Campus. He was 71. He was born in Kingston, a son of the late Charles H. and Evelyn Kwant Langley. A graduate of Kingston High School, '61 and Marist College, Hank served in the U.S. Army signal corps in Thailand during the Viet Nam war. He was a computer programmer for IBM in Kingston and Poughkeepsie for 27 years as well as a web page designer for the State of New York in Albany until his retirement. He was a parishioner of St. Peter's, Rosendale where he served as lector and Eucharistic Minister for many years. He served as an assistant scoutmaster for Troops 17 & 7 Boy Scouts of America. He enjoyed vacationing at the National Seashore on Cape Cod where he loved biking, kayaking and swimming in the ocean. On November 9, 1968 he married Amy Eckmann at Immaculate Conception Church in Tuckahoe, NY. Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Timothy Langley and his wife Kristen of Poughkeepsie; Christopher Langley of New York City; one daughter Sarah Langley of Kerhonkson. Also surviving are two granddaughters Madeleine and Sophie; his sister Kathleen Matarese and her husband Larry of Red Hook and Mary Ellen Givant and her husband Jim of Middletown; a sister-in-law Carol Robinson of Bronxville, NY. One niece and two nephews also survive. A son, Henry Langley Jr. and a brother, Francis O'Neill Jr. died previously. Friends will be received at the A. Carr & Son Funeral Home, 65 Lucas Ave., Kingston on Thursday from 4 - 8 PM. A funeral procession will form at the funeral home on Friday at 10:00 am and process to St. Peter's Church in Rosendale for a funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Kingston.
