Helen T. Gallagher, (Henny), 57, died March 9, 2010 at the beautiful Kaplan Family Hospice Residence, Newburgh, NY.
Born to Ralph S. and Nancy Goldsborough Gallagher in Evanston, Illinois. Helen grew up in Chappaqua, NY on 41 Spruce Ln. She attended St. Mary's of Providence, in Elverson, PA and furthered her education on her own. She had just retired from her long held position at the Pilot Industries Pecora Center, Kingston, NY.
An artist, scientist and Vedic scholar she had a deep love of astronomy and was believed to be one of the Monkeys from Jupiter. ON her last day, she said "I'm off to another planet". Helen advocated the need to feed and educate poor children around the world. An author of one book, "The Henny Story", which expresses the values of being good to one's self and others; peace love and happiness always.
She was a senior member of the Hoyt House in Kingston, NY where she lived with her dear friends for the past ten years. A avid collector of rare and beautiful dolls, she aspired to show her collection at the Doll House on Rt 28 in the Catskills. Her doll collection will be donated to children in need of company.
Many were touched by Helen's magic heart; there was a dog in there, a blond in there, a monkey in there, Ishmi, spiderman and all Super Heros that looked after the well being of the people, Sattva and leave it at that!
She will be dearly missed by her six siblings; Mary, Cathy, Eeo, John, Chip and Chuck as well as 13 nephews and nieces and two great-nieces and many lovely friends and devotees.
Friends will be received at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Kingston on Saturday from 2 - 4 PM. A memorial service will be celebrated by Deacon Jack Peters at 2:30 p.m. followed by tributes and remembrances from family and friends.
