Helen Marie Potter, 93, of Kingston, NY, passed away on Friday, January 11, 2019 at Golden Hill Nursing & Rehab Center in Kingston. She was born August 21, 1925 in Kingston, the daughter of the late Robert Hogan and Marion (Cain) Hogan. She married John H. Potter on April 1, 1943, one of the original Potter Bros.
Helen was an avid golfer, having achieved three "Holes in One", one at her home course of Wiltwyck Country Club and two in Florida. She was a former member of the Town of Esopus United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir.
Helen is survived by her children, John H. Potter, Jr. and his wife Nan of Kingston, Susan Salzmann of Warren, NJ, Joann Potter and her husband John Gorman of Rhinebeck, and Diane May and her husband William of Red Hook, NY, 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her greatest reward in life. In addition to her parents she is predeceased by her siblings, Phyllis Kastner, Robert Hogan, Jean Mitchell, and Ronald Hogan, and her son in law, Thomas Salzmann.
