Helen M. Lonergan

Helen M. Lonergan, 79, of Kingston, NY, passed away Friday, November 11, 2022 at Kingston Hospital with her family by her side. She was born July 24, 1943 in Jamaica, Queens, daughter of the late John and Frances (Mais) Cooper. She was married to Thomas Lonergan, they wed on May 2, 1964.

She was a very special wife and mother.  She added so much love to everything she did.  She was an amazing cook and made so many recipes that have now been passed down. During the holidays the house was filled with all her decorations and we all looked forward to her Christmas cookies.  She really made the house so warm and cozy.  Everyone loved to go to Grandma's house because she was so fun to talk to.  She was an avid reader and so smart.  The library was one of her favorite places to be.  She enjoyed sewing, cross-stitch, and planting her flowers.  She recently was doing one puzzle after another.  Also, crosswords were always here and there around the house. Most of all we will miss our conversations, her smile, and her laughter.  She will be missed beyond words.  

In addition to her husband, Helen is survived by her children, Matthew (Rachel) Lonergan of Port Ewen, and Nancy (Dwayne) Albright of Boiceville, her grandchildren, Daniel, David, Elizabeth, Heather, Hyde, and Jennifer, her siblings, James Cooper, Barbara Kubicsko, and Ann O'Flaherty, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brother, John Cooper. 

Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston, NY 12401, where family and friends may visit on Tuesday November 15, 2022 from 3pm to 6pm. The funeral procession will form at the funeral home on Wednesday November 16, 2022 at 9:30am and will then proceed to Immaculate Conception RC Church, 467 Delaware Ave., Kingston, NY 12401, where at 11am a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
