Helen Kelly Gelsleichter of Arnold Drive, died Monday, May 18, 2015 at Ten Broeck Commons.
Born in Wilkes Barre, PA, she was a daughter of the late Clyde J. & Gertrude Mulcahy Kelly. She was a graduate of Misericordia College in Dallas, PA. She then taught at Wyoming Seminary in Kingston, PA from 1947-1950. On July 26, 1950, she married the late William C. Gelsleichter. In 1967, Bill and Helen moved to the Kingston area, where Helen became involved with Ulster-Greene ARC. She was also a member of the Benedictine Hospital Auxiliary and a parishioner of St. Mary's Church and previously St. Joseph Church, both located in Kingston.
Helen is survived by her two sons, W. Clyde Gelsleichter and his wife, Brenda of Saugerties, W. Christopher Gelsleichter of Woodstock, two grandchildren, W. Matthew Gelsleichter and his wife Nadine, Kristin E. Koegel and her husband Daniel, two great grandchildren, Easton and Brady Koegel.
In addition to her parents, Helen was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, William C. Gelsleichter, who passed in 2014.
Helen will be reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Thursday, May 21, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
The funeral procession will form from the funeral home on Friday at 9:00 AM.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in Hurley Cemetery.
