Kingston - Helen Cunaveles, 93, of Emerson St. died Thursday Aug. 13, 2015 at home with family by her side along with Hospice of Ulster County. Helen was born in Kingston, NY on June 13, 1922 and was the daughter of Vassile and Petro Cunaveles. She was a lifelong resident of Kingston and was a graduate of Kingston High School, Class of '39. Helen worked at IBM Kingston as Education Dept. Head for 33 years, retiring in 1990. Helen continued to work at Nekos Luncheonette until 2010 where she was well known to Kingston residents as "Aunt Helen". She continued working part-time at Hurley Mt. Inn until 2014. Helen was an avid Giants football and Yankees fan. She was a lifetime member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church of Kingston. In addition to her parents, Helen was predeceased by her sister Jennie Chafouleas and brother Constantine Cunaveles; also her beloved niece Eleni Coutant and great-niece Gina Coutant. Helen will be dearly missed by her beloved nephew Christopher Chafouleas, great-niece Andrea Chafouleas, niece Lynn Dale of Las Vegas, NV, nephew Todd Coutant and family along with many great nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at A. Carr & Son Funeral Home, 65 Lucas Ave. on Monday from 5-8 PM. Trisagion service will be at 7:30 PM. A funeral procession will form on Tuesday, 9:00 AM at the funeral home and process to St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 294 Greenkill Ave. where services will be held at 10:00 AM.
