Helen Cammans

Helen Cammans, 75, of Port Ewen, died Friday afternoon, October 21st, at Ten Broeck Commons, Lake Katrine after a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family and friends.

She was the loving wife of the late James A. Cammans. They wed July 8th, 1953, Mr. Cammans died December 14, 2001. Beloved mother of Jeffrey R. Cammans and his wife Kathleen, Mara A. Lang and her husband John, Regina M. Gibbons and her husband Ronald, Laura L. Mayone and her husband Al, mother of the late James V. Cammans and mother in law of Robin Cammans. Devoted grandmother of Jennifer Cammans, Sarah Dankanich, Jeffrey A. Cammans, Allison Lang, Gregory Lang, Ronny Gibbons and Matthew Gibbons, great grandmother of Jasmine Guilherme and dear sister of Patricia Reilly. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
She was born March 28, 1936 in Bronx, NY, the daughter of the late Vincent and Helen Hattrick. She was a graduate of St. Vincent Ferrer High School, NY, NY class of 1953.
Mrs. Cammans had been employed by Mirons in the credit department and then worked for Ulster Savings Bank as a bank underwriter until her retirement.
Mrs. Cammans was a parishioner of Presentation R.C. Church. She loved to travel with her husband and after his death she traveled with the Freedom Select Travel Group. She enjoyed walking with her friends and exercising at the gym, especially the Zumba classes. Mrs. Cammans was an avid reader and volunteered her time at the Town of Esopus Library, as well as Hospice, Robert Graves Elementary School and the Golden Hill Health Care Center. But most of all she loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren and friends
Entrusted to the care of Eric Keyser, Keyser Funeral Service, 216 Broadway, Port Ewen. Friends may call on Monday from 2 - 4 & 6 - 8. The procession will form on Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. and proceed to Presentation R.C. Church where at 10:00 a.m. a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Carl Johnson. Burial in Hurley Cemetery
