Hattie Amelia Quick of West Hurley, died Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Northern Dutchess Hospital, due to complications from pneumonia.
Born in Olivebridge, NY, she was the daughter of the late Edward & Amelia Franz Barley. Hattie loved life and loved to be surrounded by her family. She was a loving mother and best friend to all her children and grandchildren alike. If you had the pleasure to meet Hattie, you knew you were meeting a kind and loving person who could brighten up your day.
She worked for many years at Kingston Hospital, until she decided to stop and raise her children. Hattie was a person who loved to garden and you could always find her outside tending to her plants. Now her new garden is in heaven, but to all who knew Hattie, she will be greatly missed.
Hattie was the widow of the late Ernest Quick, Sr. She is survived by four children, Bonnie Shields and her husband Ronald of Saugerties, Gordon Quick and his wife Laura of Lake Katrine, Michael Quick and his wife Doreen of Lake Katrine and Pete Quick and his husband James of West Hurley, two stepsons, Ernest Quick, Jr. of West Hurley and Donald Quick of Kerhonkson, two brothers, Edward Barley and his wife Mary of Jacksonville, FL and Robert Barley of Saugerties, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, with one on the way and nieces and nephews also survive.
Reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave, on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9.
The service and interment will be private.
