Town of Ulster- Harry J. Nichols, Sr. of Hinsdale St. died Sunday, April 18, 2004 at the Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany. He was 69.
He was born in Shavertown, NY on April 25, 1934, a son of the late Elmer and Ethel Huckle Nichols. He served in the US Army from 1954 - 1956 and was a member of the Kingston American Legion Post 150.
Mr. Nichols belonged to Local 17, Newburgh and worked in construction for 30 years. He was a member of the B.P.O.E.
Two brothers Charles and Elmer Nichols and three sisters Ann Barthel, Carrie Naylor and Margaret Nichols all died previously.
Surviving are three sons, Harry J. Nichols Jr., Gerard F. and Richard C. all of Kingston, a daughter, Kim Warren and her husband Kevin E. Warren of Glasco, one sister Elizabeth Major of Colorado Springs, CO, two grandchildren Danielle Halterman and Aidin Warren, one great grandson Dylan Short, many nieces and nephews.
Reposing at Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Avenue on Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral will be Thursday at 12:00 PM at the funeral home, Rev. Rick De La Pena will officiate. Interment will be in Montrepose Cemetery.
