Harry A. Legg, 94, formerly of O'Neil St., Kingston, died Sunday, October 28, 2012 at Ten Broeck Commons, Lake Katrine, NY. He was born March 28, 1918 in Kingston, a son of the late C. Lester and Dorothy Beck Legg. He was married to Caroline Hummel Legg who died July 9, 2007. Harry was a Master Sergeant in the United States Army and served during World War II from 1942 to 1946.
A graduate of Spencer School of Business, he previously worked for the accounting department of Adirondack Trailways, Skyline Manufacturing and was office manager of the Rodi Coal Co. He retired as Supervisor of the credit department of Key Bank (Kingston Trust Co.).
He was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church Of The Redeemer, where he sang in the church Choir, had been the treasurer, and on the church council. He was a 68 year member of American Legion Post #150, and a life member of A. H. Wicks Engine & Truck Company.
Harry is survived by his daughter, Donna Legg of Albany; his sister; Dolores Carlzon and her husband Robert of New Paltz. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
His brother, C. Lester Legg Jr. died previously.
Entrusted to the care of the Keyser Funeral Service, Inc., 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston where friends will be received on Sunday from 12 - 2 PM at which time services will be conducted by Pastor James Rowe. Inurnment with military honors will follow in Montrepose Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Redeemer Lutheran Schwab Music Fund, 104 Wurts St., Kingston, NY 12401.
