Harold Rasmussen

June 7, 1925 — February 25, 2010

Harold ''Bud'' Rasmussen, 84, of Pine Place, Kingston, died Thursday, February 25, 2010 at his residence. He was born June 7, 1925 in Bridgeton, NJ to the late Harold and Pauline (Sayford) Rasmussen.

He was the husband of Patricia Dickson Rasmussen; they wed on August 26, 1948 in Champaign, IL. He was a graduate of the University of Illinois, earning his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering

He was veteran of the US Army having served during World War II in the European Theater of Operations; his unit was involved in the Battle of the Bulge and Alsace Lorraine Campaign. He was decorated with 2 Purple Hearts.

Mr. Rasmussen worked for IBM in Poughkeepsie and Kingston in Computer Development Engineering, for 37 years.

He was a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club, and was club president in 1984. He had been a very active member of Hidden Harbor Yacht Club for 42 years, having served several terms as secretary. In 1974 he was Commodore of the Mohawk Hudson Council of Yacht Clubs

In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughter Kayleen Trout and her husband Jerry, Woodsboro, MD, son Harold D. Rasmussen, Kingston, NY, grandchildren Alex G. Trout of Tsgura, Japan, Nathan A. Trout of Raleigh, NC and Diana N. Trout of Bellingham, WA.


Bud was predeceased a daughter Kristine, and a sister Carol R. Brown.

Entrusted to the care of the Keyser Funeral Service, Inc., 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston. Servcies will ill be private at the discretion of the family.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Hidden Harbor Yacht Club, Tilden St., Port Ewen, NY 12466 or Senior Net Learning Center, 105 Development Court, Kingston, NY 12401
