Harold L. Ackhart

Wallkill - Harold L. Ackhart of Plattekill-Ardonia Rd. died Friday, April 03, 2015 at home. He was 79. He was born in Highland, a son of the late Lewis J. and Gladys Lent Ackhart. A farmer, he was employed for many years at the Hudson Valley Fruit Distributers, in Milton, NY. He was married to the late Dorothy Ackhart who died January 12, 1996. Surviving are his sons, Matt Cook, Richard Cox, his daughter, Gidget Dermody, a stepson, Ron Edwards. Also surviving are his sister, Louise Schimtz, a brother, Floyd Ackhart and many grandchildren. A stepson, Willie Edwards and a brother, Nathan Ackhart died previously. Entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston, NY. Cremation was private.
