Gustav C. deOlde

Gustav C. deOlde, 67, of Kingston, passed away at his home suddenly in his sleep after a lengthy illness on Thursday, April 21, 2016. He was born September 14, 1948 in New York City to the late Jan and Irene (Wos) deOlde.

He is survived by his siblings, Stephen deOlde (Donna Upright) of Hurley, Louis deOlde (Susan Martel) of New Paltz, Caroline Gock of Bloomington, his sister-in-law, Carol deOlde of San Jose, CA, as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. In addition to his parents he is predeceased by his brother, John S. deOlde and his brother-in-law, William W. Gock.

Gus was a Kingston High School Graduate, Class of 1966. He retired from IBM in Kingston/Poughkeepsie. He was a lifetime member of the Kingston Power Boat Association. He enjoyed local history, boating, his motorcycle, working on cars, local scenery, especially his favorite spot on Creek Locks Road along the Rondout Creek accompanied by his dog, his home, his garden, bird watching, politics, and especially his family. His best friends and companions were his dog Hasbrouck, who predeceased him and his dog, Ellie.
Within Gus's circle of friends he had special lifetime friends as well as caring friends at the Woodcrest Bruderhof in Rifton. Gus is loved and will be missed by all.

Entrusted to the care of A. Carr & Son Funeral Home, 65 Lucas Ave, Kingston. Memorial service and Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
