Grace Marburger, of Powells Lane, Town of Ulster, died Christmas Eve at Benedictine Hospital. She was 94.
She was born December 30, 1912 in the Bronx, a daughter of the late William and Grace Wood.
For several years, she worked in the Deli department of Grand Union and several other area stores, including the Bull Market in Kingston. She also was a telephone operator in the Bronx. Mrs. Marburger was a member of the Town of Ulster Republican Club, the Town of Kingston Senior Citizens and a former member of the Sawkill Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
Her husband, Paul G. Marburger Sr., died November 2, 1985. Two sisters Patricia Gallagher and Susan Johnson and one brother Fred Wood, all died previously.
Surviving are one daughter Grace Goeller and her husband Alfred of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware; one son Paul G. Marburger and his wife Lynn of Kingston; one brother John Wood of New York City; eight grandchildren Robinson, Bryan, and Raymond Scott Bradley, Linda-Su Mabey, Kirk, Peter, Eric and Kyle Marburger; eleven great grandchildren Ryan, Erin, Amanda, Meredith and Derek Bradley, Aidan and Liam Mabey, Jacqueline and Zachary Tank, Abbigail and Gavin Marburger; many nieces and nephews.
Reposing at the Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday at 12:00 PM, Rev. David Brechter will officiate. Interment will be in Mt. Marion Cemetery.
