Gloria S. Levine

Gloria S. Levine, of Tucson, AZ died Thursday, July 16, 2009 at her residence. She was 85. She was born in New York City on December 8, 1923, a daughter of the late Irene and Benjamin Sher. Mrs. Levine received degrees from Teachers College of Connecticut and the University of Hartford. For many years she taught in the Wethersfield Public Schools, Wethersfield, Connecticut. A longtime resident in Wethersfield, CT, Mrs. Levine was a founding member at Temple Beth Torah. She was a Life Member of Hadassah. In 1985 she moved to Tucson, AZ. Her husband, Donald Levine died in 2000. Surviving are one daughter Jane Levine Myerson, Hurley, one son Steven Levine, Sheffield, MA; one sister June Rosen of West Hartford, CT; 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be conducted at Beth Alom Cemetery, New Britain, CT on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jewish Federation of Ulster County, 159 Green St., Kingston, NY 12401.
